Here is a backpack made from a broken Wetsuit. Wetsuits are very difficult to recycle and can take up to 100 years to biodegrade. These bags have a fold down top and close with a plastic clip and a front zipped pocket. Wetsuit material is tricky to sew so pockets are often a little wonky and sometimes the top opening of the bag isn't level, but this is the beauty of this material. These bags are all very much unique as parts of wetsuit have been stitched together to make larger sections, this is very time consuming but you will not get any 2 of these bags the same.

They have a small handle so they are easy to carry and have two adjustable backpack straps. The smaller loop is made from the zip pull of a broken wetsuit. Perfect to store your items for specially after a swim for example, but also has many uses! The webbing strap by the clip that closes the bag, also has part of a punctured inner tube to keep the end of the strap safe. Due to stitching through the neoprene I would never say that these bags are waterproof. The top can be rolled down or just folded down but sometimes the roll will fall if the bag isn’t full due to the material being floppy.

This bag measures when closed, 16 1/2” high and 15” across tapering to 8 1/2” across approx at the base. Unfolded, when fully open, the bag is 23 1/2” high. What is great about this bag is it has a tapered base meaning it’s roomy with a boxy base. This then tapers towards the top. The back pack straps go to about 31” at the longest but of course these can go smaller also as they are adjustable.

As this is made from a broken wetsuit, the material is floppy and so the bag sometimes sits a bit funny. The material is stretchy and difficult to sew so is sometimes very slightly wonky or organic shaped, but this is the beauty of the material.

Please note, as the material used it repurposed, there may be some signs of wear or markings on these items but this is the beauty of them. It is important to know that the bags are not waterproof due to the upcycled material and the stitching used to create these items. Due to this material the items may be slightly organic shaped! We try and upcycle as much material as we can, but other components used on these items such as zips and webbing straps are not always repurposed, but they are where ever I can get them.
